Abstract
The procedure for the resolution of overlapping UV-bands given in1 is improved in two respects: A new method to compute the starting values for the iterative least-squares procedure is developed; the number of parameters, which have to be estimated, is reduced by introducing an additional restriction to the model (equidistance of vibrational bands belonging to the same electronic transition). By means of this new procedure the isolation even of strongly overlapping vibrational bands is possible.
