Abstract

Passive intermodulation is caused by electromagnetic nonlinearity of passive devices, and it can seriously interfere with the quality of wireless communication. The high-accuracy of passive intermodulation measure and localization is significance in PIM research and related architecture of wireless communication system. In this paper, we construct a wideband localization system of passive intermodulation based on carrier suppression. Instead of selecting high selectivity for BPF to extract weak PIM product, we used carrier suppression to cancel strong reflect two-tone signal and then measure the PIM product. This localization system can work between 0.7GHz∼2.3GHz. Simulation analysis, carrier suppression system can realize 70dB attenuation of test signals. This method can be widely used in the checking, testing of high power microwave systems.
