UNT Summer Combo Workshop (4)

Faculty member of the University of North Texas Summer Jazz Combo Workshop. Responsibilities include teaching theory, directing faculty-student play-a-long sessions, coaching jazz chamber groups, and teaching Saxophone master classes. Nightly faculty concerts included in Performance Partnerships. It is important to note that I have been a faculty member at this workshop for 23 consecutive years, teaching and performing at each workshop since 1996. Over the years, my responsibilities have expanded, and I have one of the heaviest faculty loads at the workshop. This past year, I also assisted the founder and director of the workshop (UNT Jazz Faculty member Michael Steinel) in scheduling and placement of students into appropriate level groups and classes. The UNT Jazz program is the oldest and one of the most prestigious university jazz programs in the world, and this workshop is of national scope.
