Abstract

The approach to the design against missiles has been extremely conservative because of a lack of knowledge of the behaviour of missiles picked up by a tornado. A method is proposed to determine the probability of a certain postulated missile impact. If the probability is less than some arbitrarily selected value, determined by a licensing body, then the postulated missile need not be considered in the design. (A.M.T.)
