Abstract

Postponed from March, The Lubbock Chorale's Annual Gala was carefully converted into a virtual event via a video production with combined modalities: choir members rehearsed via Zoom every week and uploaded self-recorded audio AND video tracks to be engineered into a mass VIRTUAL CHOIR, the first ever format for The Lubbock Chorale! Soloists pre-recorded their material in live sessions with pianists and videographers. TLC's Board leadership recorded a welcome and fundraising pitch in a separate location, and I (the artistic director) recorded narration and dialogue for the concert portion, which celebrated the beloved music of Lerner's and Loewe's MY FAIR LADY. The event was launched on the Chorale's YouTube Channel at the end of October. This project took hundreds of hours from many people to convert the format of the Gala and ensure the ongoing financial success of The Lubbock Chorale and its "A SOUND INVESTMENT" scholarship program.
