Time temperature and time-aging time superposition in polycarbonate below the glass transition

Abstract

The development of a set of materials property data for polycarbonate resin which is important to the computer modeling of dimensional stability and viscoelastic properties in regions near the glass transition was performed. Time temperature superposition and time-aging time superposition data were taken in the temperature range from 103 to 145 degrees celsius and for aging times from 0.5 to 16 hours after a quench. For time temperature superposition the results showed a deviation from of the sub-T response from the WLF equation. Temperature at which the transition occurred decreased as aging time increased. The time-aging time response was found to behave in the normal way.
