Abstract

My initial study of President’s Trump’s use of Twitter was published in Critical Studies in Media and Communication in 2017. Despite the relative recency of this publication, it is currently the second most downloaded essay in the history of the journal and the third most cited essay behind articles by Stuart Hall (1985) and Barbie Zelizer (1993). Based on its success, the Editorial Committee of the National Communication Association invited me to expand the essay into a book-length study. The result, a co-authored volume titled, The Twitter Presidency: Donald J. Trump and the Politics of White Rage, is the inaugural volume in the NCA Focus on Communication Studies series published by Routledge. To date, the book has generated three dozen radio, television, and newspaper interviews in outlets such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Politico, and USA Today. I have also authored two dozen editorials related to the book for USA Today, Newsweek, Salon, and The Hill among others.
