The Jumpstart Model pairs children of low-income families with college mentors in the child's typical learning environment. note = "Funding Information: As for funding, the majority of Jumpstart{\textquoteright}s funding comes from AmeriCorps. This is why the college students who participate are called Corps members. In fact, Jump-start may be AmeriCorps{\textquoteright}s single largest contractor. Funding flows from AmeriCorps to Jumpstart or sometimes to a state agency, then to Jumpstart. Universities apply for grants from Jumpstart for local sites. These sites are free to seek any additional funding they choose to support their local goals. Jumpstart also has a constellation of major, long-term corporate partners including American Eagle Outfitters{\textregistered}, Sodexo{\texttrademark}, Starbucks{\texttrademark}, and Pearson{\textregistered}. Pearson also sponsors the Pearson Teacher Fellowship program that endows selected Corps members with financial assistance while those individuals study and train to become early childhood educators.",
