The conductivity of a longitudinal-shock-wave-compressed Nd2Fe14B hard ferromagnetics

Abstract

The conductivity of Nd2Fe14B hard ferromagnetic subjected to compression by a longitudinal shock wave (the shock wave propagates along the magnetization vector M) with a pressure of 35 GPa is measured. The results of the experiments show that the conductivity of the longitudinal-shock-wave-compressed Nd2Fe14B is σsw = (2.83 ± 0.24) × 102 (Ω cm)-1, which is 22 times lower than the conductivity of Nd2Fe14B under normal conditions.
