N2 - Large crystals of zeolite X with diameters up to 340 μm were synthesized from gels with the composition 4.76Na2O:1.0Al2O3:3.5SiO2:454H2O:5-8.5TEA. The syntheses were conducted using aqueous slurries of Cab-O-Sil M-5 or Aerosil 200 fumed silica, and sodium aluminate solutions containing triethanolamine made with sodium hydroxide and aluminum wire or sodium aluminate powder. The results indicated that the large zeolite X crystals grown are more siliceous than large crystals grown from gels containing TEA.
