Abstract

The synthesis, structure and reaction behaviour of the branched carbosilanes 3a-c, consisting of a central nitrogen core and a silicon branching point, have been reported. The X-ray structure analysis of 3b reveals a spherical shape of the molecule with the silyl groups arranged in a propeller fashion.
