Study on the application of heavy metal chelating agent in wastewater treatment

Abstract

The synthesizing method of heavy metal chelating agent was studied in this paper, and the mechanism of the chelating agent capturing heavy metal ions was also analyzed and experimentally studied. The efficiency of the agent capturing heavy metal ions such as Cr3+, Cu2+,. Ni 2+,Hg2+, Pb2+, Zn2+ and Cd 2+ was as high as 99% or more, and the quality of the treated wastewater can reach wastewaster discharge standards, and the efficiency can't be influenced by the pH value changing. At the same time, the precipitation velocity of the sludge was improved by approximately one time and the moisture of the sludge was reduced by almost one and a half times to five times respectively comparing with the result of inorganic chemical agent Na 2S used in treating with heavy metal wastewater.
