Abstract

In the previous chapter, Davis made the argument that technical communication instructors are well qualified to lead online education efforts; this chapter will discuss whom these instructors will be teaching. Specifically, this chapter provides the demographics and motivating factors of online technical communication students, traits we should consider when designing courses for these students, and the best methods of marketing online technical communication programs.
