    Abstract

    A method for evaluating the energy efficiency and costs of passive home design alternatives is described to facilitate assessment of energy conservation options. Performance data from the simulation program and cost data are incorporated into a linear programming optimization model to determine least-cost designs and to predict the corresponding heat flow characteristics.
