Silicon waveguide to hybrid plasmonic waveguide polarization rotator and coupler

Abstract

We present a polarization rotator and coupler that rotates the TE0 mode in a silicon waveguide and couples to the hybrid plasmonic (HP0) mode. Coupling factor of ̃60% and polarization conversion efficiency of ̃ 90% is achieved.
