Semiclassical vibrational energy levels for a model H-C-C → H + C=C Hamiltonian

Abstract

A model Hamiltonian, which a previous study has shown contains many quasi-periodic trajectories, is investigated semiclassically. Eigenvalues are evaluated by using the method of surfaces of section. Quantizable levels which include many resonances exist both below and above the unimolecular threshold. A pattern, dependent upon the number of quanta in the reaction coordinate, is found for the quasi-periodic trajectories.
