Abstract
(S)Edition: Prints as Activism, provides a venue for contemporary artists to connect the 21st
century language of printmaking to the medium’s history as an instrument of democracy. Exhibited
artists demonstrate the viability of prints to engage issues of social and environmental justice.
Work from artists from around the country, selected from an open call for entries, will be combined
into a group exhibition that not only focuses on the prints role as a means of cultural critique but
also showcases this ancient but newly invigorated discipline as it is practiced and defined by today’s
artists.
