title = "Scintillating fiber hodoscopes using position-sensitive photomultipliers",
abstract = "We present some of the recent results of an R&D program on scintillating fibers readout by position-sensitive photomultiplier tubes. Considerable improvements have been achieved compared to the previous studies, in particular in detection efficiency (>95%) and linearity. In addition, a detailed study on two-hit resolution enabled us to confirm the possibility of reconstructing double-hit events in real-time by using the delay-line method.",

We thank the members of Nagoya University group for providing the high quality SciFi bundles as well as relevanti nformation on the SciFi characteristicsW. e are also much indebted to the technical personnel in collaborating institutions, in particular, J. Ballansat and S. Rico of LAPP as well as S. Reia and D. Iugovaz of INFN/Trieste. Some of us (A.G., I.M., and T.Y) have been supportedp artially by SMC Corporation, Japan. F.T. and K.O. have been supported partially by a grant from the science researchp romotion funds of Japan Private School Promotion Foundation.",
