Abstract

Making use of the simplified static-geometric analogy associated with the introduction of the two mentioned effects, two second order coupled differential equations, involving two dependent variables which are static-geometric analogues of each other, are derived for rotationally symmetric deformation of orthotropic conical shells, wherein both the above mentioned effects are included. By an asymptotic procedure, the general solutions of these equations are obtained. A comparison of the results thus obtained, with those published earlier, and a discussion are presented.
