Research update: Guided efforts in beef cattle nutrition

Current research endeavors in nutrition have involved collaborations between theDepartment of Animal and Food Sciences and the Department of Plant and SoilSciences. The research update that follows will be directed to a selection of ten studieson beef cattle nutrition with focus on grazing/backgrounding, growing, finishing diets,and proof of concept. Some of these efforts have been completed, some published,while others are in on-going assessment, and so, specific note will be made regardingstage of current process. Moreover, an additional section was included to expresstransdisciplinary efforts towards nutritional technique development regardingmeasurement of digestibility. Research depicted was or has been conducted at theTexas Tech University experimental site (New Deal Research and Education Center –Idalou, TX), with the involvement of multiple units (Burnett Center; Ruminant NutritionCenter; Beef Cattle; and Grazing Unit), and laboratories (Ruminant Nutrition Lab;Sustainable Rumi
