N2 - In the past ten years, the remanufacturing engineering has become a very popular topic in the industrial area as it is one of the most effective and potential strategies for the "end-of-life" product management. However, the available literature and theory in the remanufacturing area are limited; this paper is designed to present an overview over the remanufacturing engineering, including literature about: reverse logistics, remanufacturing process, product design and economic and environmental analysis. This paper aims to compile a thorough survey and provide a foundation for the further research of remanufacturing engineering.
