Abstract
The development of oil and gas assets requires significant infrastructure (e.g. transportation, services, etc.): saltwater disposal facilities makeup a vital component of this infrastructure. The location and capacity/utilization of saltwater disposal facilities is of particular importance to the E&P industry as these parameters directly influence transportation utilization (e.g. vacuum truck mileage/travel time). Disposal of produced flowback water can also represent a substantial portion of the lifetime operating expenses incurred by oil and gas assets: minimizing this expense can result in significant capital savings.
