Abstract

I performed a concert with members of the organization “Expressions for Justice” (a distinctly Dutch initiative of the International Justice Mission) titled “Put my tears in Thy Bottle”. I performed works for viola and piano with Heather Merryman Hancock and Steurt Pincombe, cello and Michelle Pincombe, voice. I hope that I will be able to bring these ideas to West Texas to start my own social justice organization (in conjunction with Lubbock's Coalition for Hope) that partners with artists to bring awareness to the issues of human trafficking through concerts and other events. The most exciting part for me is to see suffering redeemed and dignified--the suffering that inspired beautiful works also becomes the generator that finances rescue.
