Abstract
The ASCE 7 Committee on Minimum Loads on Buildings and Other Structures is revising loads contained in ASCE 7-93. Significant revisions are proposed to wind load provisions. The revisions include new wind speed map, provisions for wind speed-up for topography, requirement for partial loading and refinement in exposure coefficients and gust response factor. Use of 3-second gust speed necessitates change in values of virtually all the coefficients.
