Abstract

In order to help designers to find the need improved objects correctly during product design, a product improving design frame based on TRIZ/VE is presented. This frame is based on product function analysis model which is built according to product components' interrelationship. And it integrates TRIZ ideal final result (IFR) concept with Value Engineering to calculate and evaluate function value resulting in discovering the problems components with lower value for improving. A practical example of hydraulic reciprocating piston rod seal system is provided to illustrate the validation of the model.
