Abstract
This report outlines the major problems of Gondwanaland reconstruction involving India and Antarctica. The reconstruction of various authors are illustrated and the existence of a pre- Mesozoic oceanic gap, Sinus Australis, between the W margin of Australia and India is considered. Geologic, paleomagnetic, ocean-floor, and paleontologic data offer no firm evidence for or against a fit between India and Antarctica. Further discoveries of vertebrate faunas in the Gondwana rocks may provide significant evidence concerning the exact positions and durations of contacts, if any, between India and Antarctica.-from Current Antarctic Literature
