N2 - The reaction of [(COD)Rh(μ-Cl)]2 (COD = 1,5-C8H12) with 2 equivalents of AgReO4 in dry tetrahydrofuran (THF) at room temperature leads to orange, crystalline [(COD)Rh(μ-η2-ReO4)]η. The structure consists of infinite chains in which square-planar rhodium and tetrahedral rhenium centres are linked by oxygen bridges to form a (ReO2ORh(COD)O)n polymer. The two unique RhORe angles are 176(1) and 157(1)°.
