Abstract

A general outline is presented of philosophy and principles of riser modelling and the numerical approaches used for the riser response. The linearized frequency domain technique and nonlinear time domain analysis are discussed and compared. Emphasis has been given to linearization technique for the dynamic response of the riser. The finite element method is used for performing dynamic analysis of a two dimensional riser structure subjected to force generated by wave and current. (A)
