Abstract

In this paper, we mathematically analyze the performance of a near-interference erasure scheme for TH-PPM UWB systems and derive an equation for an optimum threshold which minimizes the bit error rate (BER). We also apply the optimum threshold derived mathematically to practical TH-PPM UWB systems and investigate the effect of the threshold on the system performance. Finally, we compare the BER performance obtained by the mathematical analysis with that of computer simulation.
