Abstract

In this paper an attempt is made to derive some path independent integrals that can correctly assess the crack tip deformation state for the material under a history dependent elastic-plastic dynamic loading as well as a nonhomogeneous thermal loading. The integral parameter may be considered to serve as an effective parameter for predicting instability of a structure subjected to intense heat energy irradiation. The relation between this work and the earlier works in the area are also clarified.
