Abstract

An experiment to measure the overall loads on the Texas Tech Wind Engineering Research Field Laboratory (WERFL) has been performed for a limited number of angles of attack. Results of the experiment include total alongwind force, acrosswind force, uplift, overturning moment, rocking moment, and torsion. The measured forces and moments are compared to the forces specified in ASCE 7-93 (1993) and ASCE 7-95 (1995) standards. This comparison indicates that the forces specified in the standards are conservative.
