Abstract
Juried by Erin L. Shapiro, Assistant Curator at the Springfield Museum of Art, Deer Gallery

This solo exhibition comprised of my new project "You Speak English Too Well", which is a series of silk chiffon dioramas and corresponding paintings of Mount Rushmore and its surrounding landscape. The museum had limited hours during the exhibition because of their Covid protocol but they ran a programming event during my reception called "Come Find Art!’. It was a free family event meant to sparks child/adult discussion throughout the galleries. In addition, SPMoA created take-home art kits related to my work for a safe hands-on experience that explores the art techniques used in my work. Also, SPMoA created an audio guide to help the audience understand the processes behind the work. The audio guide was complied from an interview I did via zoom with the Curator of Education, Annette Eshelman.

SPMoA funded the return shipping of the work.

*Due to the high number of proposal submissions, fewer than 10% of applicants are offered an exhibition (language taken from the SPMoA website's call for proposals, no other statistical data was available).
