Abstract

Using delayed coincidence techniques a non-prompt level (T 1 2 = 6.9 ± 0.2ns) was found in the decay of 198Tl to 198Hg. Single and coincidence measurements were performed with Ge(Li) and Si(Li) detectors. Two new negative parity levels are proposed. The lifetime is attributed to the 7- level at 1.6837 MeV.
