Abstract

Natural Curiosity highlights biomimicry’s ability to solve problems outside of the product’s function and aesthetics. My research compares a healthy use of technology to unhealthy and brings attention to nature as a way to foster interest in the preservation of natural habitats and biodiversity. The goal for this design is to marry technology and nature to spark an interest in technology as a formula for leading change and encourage exploration of the resources nature offers. Unique and unusual insects were purposefully chosen for this collection to draw as much attention to the creatures inspiring the design as possible.
