Abstract
We study domain wall formation and energetics in ferroelectric polymers and copolymers by augmenting the Landau-Devonshire free energy with a polarization gradient term. We estimate the value of gradient coefficient from the optical data and investigate the temperature dependence of domain wall width and formation energy for the four types of possible ferroelectric-ferroelectric and ferroelectric-paraelectric domain walls.
