Abstract

The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists hosted this year's millennium conference at Winston-Salem, North Carolina. There were in total 20 sessions spread over two and half days from September 18th through the 20th. An important feature of this meeting is the exhibition, where many textile testing, machinery manufacturers, dyestuff manufacturers, textile trade magazines and US textile schools had their booths. A useful feature of the exhibition was the demosnstration offered by exhibitors - this gave an opportunity to the attendees to have a first hand information and hands-on experience on new instruments, testing methods, etc. In addition, there were also poster presentations from Universities, research laboratories on textile chemistry related projects.
