Abstract

High-Frequency-Pressure-Integration tests were carried out in a wind tunnel to investigate across-wind load on the tapered super-tall buildings using rigid models. According to test results, across-wind load mathematic model of tapered super-tall building was provided. Based on the excitation mechanism, the turbulence-induced force was added to the power spectrum model of across-wind load on the super-tall buildings. The fitting results of the refined model agreed with the test results in normal frequency range of super-tall buildings. The coherence model of across-wind load of super-tall buildings was still suitable to express that of the tapered super-tall buildings due to the tapering seems to have no much effect on the characteristics of coherence of across-wind load. Wind-induced responses in across-wind direction of the tapered super-tall buildings can be obtained used the provided model.
