Abstract

"Rockin' Out" is a textbook by Dr. Reebee Garofalo, published by Pearson-Prentice Hall, for which I was invited / commissioned to write Listening Guides (forty-one for the textbook and forty-one for the companion website.) Each Listening Guide refers to a specific musical piece, and contains a brief socio-historical background, musical style notes, and a timing grid that guides the student/reader moment-by-moment through the piece as they listen.
