Abstract

Life cycle engineering is one of the crucial technologies for the 21st century. It means that all the life-cycle phases of a product should be considered simultaneously from the conceptual stage to detailed design stage. The life cycle approach is a powerful driver of concurrent engineering, organizational changes, monitoring and control integrated in computer integrated manufacturing as well as research in new materials, processes, and production systems. This will optimize energy and materials resources utilization, thus protecting the environment while developing civilization.
