Abstract

Number: Inc. is an independent visual arts journal, available online and in print, publishing critical discourse from the American South, in states TN, KY, VA, NC, SC, FL, GA, AL, MS, AR, LA, and TX. In this piece, Catherine Prose (Prof. of Art, Midwestern State University) and I were interviewed by Morgan Page (Asst. Prof. of Art, Midwestern State University) on the practice of drawing, with consideration for technique, material, and meaning. The interview was proposed to and accepted by the guest editor of Number: Inc. Issue 93, Pete Sculte, Associate Professor of Art at The University of Alabama and co-founder of The Fuel and Lumber Company curatorial initiative. The article featured two images of my work: dis/embody [Kirsten] and Lover, Extend. It was the first-quarter release of Number: Inc. for 2018.
