Abstract

A 1 : 1 Lewis acid-base complex between CyN=C=NCy and PhBCl₂ has been isolated and structurally characterized, heating of which in refluxing toluene results in the amidinate, [PhC{NCy}₂]BCl₂; the overall reaction has been modeled by DFT calculations.
