N2 - A performance at the International Society of Bassists Virtual Convention of my own transcription (with ornamentation) from the original 1740 publication by Le Clerc le Cadet, and an early manuscript. This performance is an essay in historically informed performance practice performed on my 1765 Gennaro Vinaccia double bass made in Naples, Italy, and fitted with wound gut strings, and on a copy of of a early 18th century double bass bow housed in Philharmonie de Paris by Edward Shillitoe I commissioned to be made in 2015. The basso continuo part performed on the new SOM 2019 Gerald Self harpsichord by Nataliya Sukhina who realized/improvised the part from figured bass.
