Abstract
Nonwoven and technical textiles are value-added textiles that enhance human life style and had its birth in India. Most of the products are disposable that is bound to have greater use and sales opportunities. The nonwoven textiles and the technical textiles are now isolated as the two major sectors in the industry. The government of India aims to have inclusive double-digit growth within an 11 five-year plan wherein both nonwoven and technical textiles will play a vital role, as well as contributions from the manufacturing and agriculture sectors. However, several barriers are faced between the two sector such as the lack on the awareness of technology and marketing. The two sectors must therefore work hand in hand to overcome such challenges in order to achieve the needed economic growth.
