Abstract

This paper outlines some of the structural identification and robust control methods used for smart structure applications. Experimental results of both identification and robust control of two smart structure test articles has been presented. A new adaptive learning rate algorithm and an adaptive neuron have been introduced to enhance learning in multi-layered neural networks. A block diagram of a robust controller implementation using the Intel's 80170NX analog neural network has also been presented.
