Abstract
The forum of engineering ethics based on the Applied Ethics case of the Month program was sponsored by the National Institute for Engineering Ethics (NIEE), Texas Technology University. The forum consists of applied ethics cases taken from actual professional practices and presented in narrative format on the NIEE's Website. Each case was linked to a series of solutions which were not necessarily ethical and which represented reactions commonly found in professional practices. Website visitors voted on their preferred course of action for the dilemma and offered commentary. Results are tabulated in the form of statistical responses at the end of the voting period and actual solutions of some cases given through commentary. The ethical cases stimulate attention to ethical issues and provides a reader the opportunity to avoid similar mistakes in their own careers. The cases also provided a convenient focus for discussions in firms and agencies.
