Abstract
The cross sections of Bc absorption by π mesons are calculated using a hadronic Lagrangian based on the SU(5) flavor symmetry. Calculated cross sections are found to be in the ranges 2-7 mb and 0.2-2 mb for the processes Bc+π→DB and Bc+π→D*B *, respectively, when the monopole form factor is included. These results could be useful in calculating the production rate of B c mesons in relativistic heavy ion collisions.
