Abstract

We present optical and X-ray observations of GRB 050904. Multi-wavelength observations showed an optical flare simultaneous with the X-ray one. We performed a spectral and temporal analysis in the X-rays, and found evidence for a variable absorption in the XRT data. We discuss the interpretation of the first flare in light of a thick-shell fireball scenario and other models.
