note = "Funding Information: Dr. Pavan Balaji holds appointments as a Computer Scientist and Group Lead at the Argonne National Laboratory, where he leads the Programming Models and Runtime Systems group. His research interests include parallel programming models and runtime systems for communication and I/O on extreme-scale supercomputing systems, modern system architecture, cloud computing systems, data-intensive computing, and big-data sciences. He has nearly 200 publications in these areas and has delivered nearly 200 talks and tutorials at various conferences and research institutes. He is a recipient of several awards including the IEEE TCSC Award for Excellence in Scalable Computing (Middle Career) in 2015, U.S. Department of Energy Early Career award in 2012, TEDxMidwest Emerging Leader award in 2013, Crain{\textquoteright}s Chicago 40 under 40 award in 2012, Los Alamos National Laboratory Director{\textquoteright}s Technical Achievement award in 2005, Ohio State University Outstanding Researcher award in 2005, seven best paper awards, one best paper finalist, one best student poster award, and one best poster finalist. He has served as a chair or editor for nearly 50 journals, conferences and workshops, and as a technical program committee member in numerous conferences and workshops. Dr. Abhinav Vishnu is a Principal Member of Technical Staff at AMD Research. His research focuses on designing scalable algorithms, programming models and runtime systems for extreme scale architectures with specific focus on Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms. He has published over 60 papers in international conferences, workshops and journals. He has also served as a program chair, editor and program committee members on several workshops and conferences, and Journals. Dr. Yong Chen is an Associate Professor and Director of the Data-Intensive Scalable Computing Laboratory in the Computer Science Department of Texas Tech University. He is also the Site Director of the Cloud and Autonomic Computing center at Texas Tech. His research focuses on data-intensive computing, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing, cloud computing, and computer systems in general. He has published over 100 research papers in international journals and conferences. He has also served as editors, chairs, and program committee members for numerous international journals, conferences, and workshops. He received several awards for his research and teaching activities including Texas Tech University Mortar Board and Omicron Delta Kappa Outstanding Faculty Award, Texas Tech University Whitacre College of Engineering Research Award, IEEE TCSC (Technical Committee on Scalable Computing) Young Achievers Award, the Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award, ACM/IEEE Outstanding High Performance Computing Ph.D. Fellowship, several Best Paper Awards, and the Best Paper finalist and Best Student Paper finalist at the ACM/IEEE Supercomputing Conference (SC).
