Abstract

A new procedure, under development, for the analysis of finite deformations, finite rotations, buckling and post-buckling behavior of arbitrary shaped shells of elastic or inelastic materials is presented. Polar-decomposition of shell deformation into rigid rotation and pure stretch is considered. A limited set of results that are so-far obtained, to test the new elements, is included.
