Abstract
INDA (Association of Nonwoven Fabrics Industry) is going to establish its office in India after receiving the necessary approval from the government, which is expected to boost the nonwoven sector. INDA's initial efforts will focus on the transfer of knowledge through a series of training courses/seminars, with a mission to create a win-win situation for the Indian textile industry and INDA member companies. This international forum will provide opportunities for many leading nonwovens companies to learn about the Indian industry, which will create joint ventures (JV) and marketing opportunities for both parties in near future. The Indo-US collaboration with the arrival of INDA in India will boost the contribution of the Indian textile industry to the gross domestic product (GDP) and will attract foreign direct investment (FDI) in India. INDA/India cooperation will also enable the Indian spunbond-meltblown-spunbond (SMS) nonwovens consumers to exploit the potential of the SMS technology.
